Maha Ahmed

is an Egyptian lawyer, human rights defender and a founder of Diwan Al Omran. With an academic background in human rights from the University of York (UK), and in law from Ain Shams University in Cairo, she has over 20 years of experience advocating for economic, social, and cultural rights. Beginning her career as a lawyer at Nabil El-Helaly Law Office, after which she served as Director of the Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights Program at the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms.
